The race for Achraf Hakimi’s signature is hotting up. PSG have been the frontrunners from the start, but that has seemingly not deterred Chelsea. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Blues have now intensified our efforts, and have even matched PSG’s €60m bid for the speedy right wing-back.
Chelsea are apparently also willing to offer a player in exchange, with the names of Emerson Palmieri and Andreas Christensen mentioned, which could then could close the gap to Inter’s asking price of €80m (a gap that is apparently causing the delay in the PSG deal). Inter Milan are said to be receptive to Chelsea’s proposition, with their interest in Emerson, but lack of funds to pay for Emerson, well-known at this point.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sempre Inter), Inter are hoping to conclude the Hakimi transaction within the next couple of days, keeping in mind their financial situation and need to balance the books before the end of the month and the fiscal year.
Inter Milan are also one of the many clubs potentially interested in Davide Zappacosta, and according to Corriere dello Sport (via Sempre Inter), the Chelsea loanee could be a fallback option for Inter once Hakimi leaves. Barcelona’s Emerson Royal is the Nerazzurri’s preferred replacement target, although it is unclear whether Barcelona will consider letting him go.
